Some records simply preserve music.
Others preserve a moment in history.
When Live At The BBC was released in late 1994, Beatles fans had been waiting nearly thirty years to hear many of these performances in officially released form. The collection brought together dozens of BBC recordings from 1963–1965, capturing The Beatles at the very moment they were transforming from Britain's hottest new band into a worldwide phenomenon. It became the first official Beatles release of previously unheard archival performances since the 1970s and introduced more than 30 songs that had never before appeared on an official Beatles album. This is an original 1994 U.S. Apple/Capitol 2-LP pressing, and it remains factory sealed after more than three decades.
Finding any original copy is becoming more difficult.
Finding one that has never been opened is becoming considerably harder.
A Wonderful Piece of Collector History
One detail I chose to leave exactly as found is the original independent record store sticker reading:
"LIMITED LAST RUN"
Alongside the original $25.99 price label, it serves as a wonderful reminder of the era when collectors hunted for records at specialty shops, record conventions, and independent music stores—long before online marketplaces made every release instantly searchable.
To me, it becomes part of the record's own history.
