Description
Something out of the ordinary.....members of five different bands performing for the troops on a USO tour in the south Pacific in 1984. This particular show is from Honolulu. Three members of Cheap Trick (Rick Nielsen, Robin Zander, Bun E. Carlos), three members of Kansas (Phil Ehart, Rich Williams, John Elefante), three members of Pablo Cruise (David Jenkins, Cory Lerios, John Pierce), plus Patrick Simmons from the Doobie Bros and Leon Medica, the bass player from LeRoux. The broadcast was split over two weeks in June 1984. Each week has a double-sided blue card with the track listings and timings, and there is separate 3-page "script". Not sure how much ensemble performance there was, but during Cheap Trick's "Hello There", Nielsen introduces everyone as they were all on stage for at least that number. Neither Cheap Trick nor Kansas had their bass players on board, so I'm guessing that Leon Medica and/or John Pierce filled that spot nightly. "Hello There" is repeated in each week's broadcast for reasons known only to the producers, and it does not sound like it is from different nights. The performances are all great, as you would expect, and although I'm not a fan of Pablo Cruise, they sounded great as well. Discs are all M- in plain covers. Total music time over the four LP's is 86 minutes. Lots of commericals, of course, and lots of phony audience noise......don't you hate that on these live radio shows?! Postage will be double whatever normally paid for a single LP.
