Clear Blue Sky - Clear Blue Sky
Here is a very rare and collectable original 1st Press Swirly Vertigo copy of Clear Blue Sky's self titled debut LP on this highly sought after label. This very hard to find LP is a great addition to any collection and has an unusual matrix combination.

Sleeve:
The original unlaminated 1st press gatefold sleeve has the original 'dragons' Roger Dean artwork and has survived fairly well. It has retained its shape but due to being unlaminated it has taken some wear through the years. There is a mark and surface abrasion on the top right front where a price sticker obviously once was. The edges also have storage wear and this includes the spine although the title and Vertigo release code are still visible and legible. The rear too has some dirt and ageing and the although the inner gatefold has survived well there is a name written inside. To summarise, its by no means a mint sleeve but it is solid, complete and has a legible spine and rates VG
Vinyl:
The 1st press heavyweight vinyl is possibly a promo too due to the strange matrix numbers but i'm no expert so cannot say for sure. (any help in this matter would be appreciated) It could also be a contract press? (looks similar to track and emi matrix numbers) Pretty much all Vertigo LPs I have come across have Y and a series of numbers rather than A and B. The surface of the vinyl is still glossy and retains a nice sheen. There are numerous very small hairlines and marks most of which only visible towards light but are present nonetheless. I dont believe these to affect playback. Overall this is a very decent copy of this rare LP and perhaps harshly rated at just VG+
Labels:
The labels are clean and tidy but side B has a name written on. It is only in a light biro and I believe with the correct cleaning product this could be removed (see picture) Otherwise the labels ar ein great shape with only a small degree of spindle marks VG+
