1st Press Rolling Stones no.2 1965 Vinyl Matrix 1A/1A Pasted Over Censored Back
LK4661 mono first press
Cover - pasted over “blind man” text
Laminated front cover “with Clarifoil made by British Celanese Ltd”
The back has the censored paper pasted over the original “blind man text” which lies underneath the pasted sheet covering - so this cover version is actually much rarer than the uncovered blind man text cover. Only a very small number of these pasted over covers were produced before Decca moved to print new covers without “blind man” text.
And many more pre-censored blind man text covers had sold before Decca bowed to pressure (including from parliament) to withdraw the album.

Tax code
KT tax code which gives it the correct date / July 1st 1963 - Nov 23rd 1968 is KT government tax code.
Decca
Unboxed red/silver Decca label with the ear logo at 2 o'clock. Upper label rim states ''Made in England” only and not the later “made in England Decca Co Ltd”.
Condition
The cover is laminated to front - please see pictures for condition - for its age the condition of the cover is good, some creasing to laminate but generally ok. Finger handling marks visible to rear white surface. And edge wear on insert side.
Vinyl
The record has general play marks and surface scratches which are visible under general Light. The record plays very well, some clicks and pops on run in but otherwise mono plays well on all tracks. There are no scratches which cause jumps or play faults. Record condition is Good. I have only played this on a high end Linn Sondek with SME arm.
So this is an early first press with the rarest cover where the “blind man text” is hidden and 1A matrix on both sides plus the early version Decca deep groove Label.
