THIS IS ANOTHER FROM MY PERSONAL COLLECTION

This album was The Beatles FIRST release on the now famous Apple label. It was entered into the charts on the 7th of December 1968 and went straight to number one-where it stayed for 7 weeks! Making it the FIRST double album to get the top slot...EVER!
The rather unusual fact about this album is that it was the first release by The Beatles which contained only SOLO material.
By the time 1970 ended, the total sales of this wonderful album were estimated to be 6.5 Million! However...get this...The only other album that beat this a few years later was "Saturday Night fever" !!!

The Vinyl:

The vinyl really shone out on playback with clear peaks and troughs...Utter quality..After listening to her ALL THE WAY THROUGH, I only found only some INCREDIBLY light and ONLY VERY occasional background noise: This was very light and only appeared for a very brief period in very small sections...for example, there was a light, soft revolutionary pop at the start of the track Long, Long, Long....So nothing bad at all.
Just carries a few light marks to the vinyl.
The album really sounded wonderfully rounded with clean and clear rich audio output....Really warming :)
I actually noticed a few arrangements I hadn't heard before on side 4! :)

The Labels:
EX!
The rarer embossed KT tax code is visible to the side 1 label....This album didn't produce many labels with a sales tax code.
 All four of the labels are extremely bright and clean with the DARKER apple.
Each have the 1st press: "SOLD IN THE UK..." statements.
There are only very light spindle marks to each label, these can only be seen when angling towards the light....And particularly looking for them !
VERY NICE!!
Next to NO HOLE WEAR at all!

The Cover:

NUMBERED/EMBOSSED: 0606382
 It is an the very first printing run, with TOP loading and a creamy finish (rather than the later brilliant white editions).
 Garrod and Lofthouse gatefold.
The spine remains strong...Free from any splits and remains legible today.
Superb cover-creamy white, with just a couple very small crescents of spidering to this glorious laminated gatefold cover.
The corners remain sharp, with the bottom right of the front panel having a slight knock-but again-I am being incredibly critical here..Please see the detailed images for yourselves and you will see the quality of this cover.
She really is ready for play and then display!

Correct MONO cover as it doesn't have the printing of  Stereo to the back top right.
GLORIOUS and clean on the inside of the gatefold.

Excellently strong Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold flipbacks....

Inners:

 Original BLACK inners. They each carry some feathering to their openings.
One has a very small split to the bottom and the right seam, the other has some wear to the edges, which has broken through by a few mm on the bottom seam.
Each window has some tears to them.
