This is a rare 2 TRACK jazz album on reel to reel tape featuring a legendary bass player CURTIS COUNCE. The title of this album is THE CURTIS COUNCE GROUP and it is on CONTEMPORARY. It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL, inside and out. It contains the original insert liner notes, and has been stored TAILS OUT  Both the box and tape are near mint. Of course it's been tested-unbelievable sounding. This tape's sound is as close as you will ever come to owning the original master, I kid you not. This is what ALLMUSIC has to say about this great Bass Playing legend:  During 1956-1957, bassist Curtis Counce led an excellent Los Angeles-based hard bop quintet comprised of trumpeter Jack Sheldon, tenor saxophonist Harold Land, pianist Carl Perkins, bassist Curtis Counce, and drummer Frank Butler.  All of Counce's recordings are well-worth getting by collectors interested in 1950s straight-ahead jazz.
