Description
This Auction contains 2 of the original 8 Mobile Fidelity Lab's master recording LP's released in early 80's. Technical Specs are included and COA These were rescued from the trash after an auction company cleaned out five or six large storage units. There were others but I couldn't reach them. Too dangerous Retrieving these two involved risking serious injury.
I don't need to tell you all the details on these if you're here reading this then you are fairly well informed Audiophile. These are the best vinyl recordings available. I've only ever heard needle drops of MFSL UHQR's on CD. I have never spun these as I just don't have a turntable worthy of them.
Just to clarify TWO (2) UHQR LP's are included in this auction EARL KLUGH and RESPIGHI- FESTE ROMANE
CONDITION:
I am no expert in vinyl and these are Super Vinyl. Unfortunately there are fingerprints on the Klugh. The RESPIGHI has one finger print on it. Both records should be cleaned professionally on a Keith Monks machine according to the tech sheet. I do not like to handle them not even for photographs. They have zero scratches and no evidence of turntable activity
The cartons/boxes (packaging) and sleeves: The bottom right corners on both have some damage (cant see it in the photos but it's minor) this could be from mishandling by the auction guys or from shelf wear. The rest of the corners show wear and abrading from handling. Really we are very fortunate to have them at all much less in really good condition considering where they were. The sleeves and inside packaging are in good condition with evidence of handling (minor). The condition of these UHQR's is obviously reflected in the low ball price. Some Audiophiles may turn their nose up these and demand only factory sealed examples for their collection. Perfectly understandable. Others may have these titles in their factory sealed collection and would appreciate a second set that they could actually play, after cleaning of course. I have never heard one played, only CD needle drops, but I have read that the difference is astonishing. See for yourself//
