Description
Here are a pair of Paul Simon demos on 45 rpm acetate--from the studio archives of a longtime NYC sound engineer--recorded soon before he was to ditch the Jerry Landis moniker. After doing lots of research, I am satisfied that neither of these tracks has seen the light before. One is a ballad called "Summer Souvenirs" (written in grease pencil on the disc--hard to see in pic) the other is obviously about the death of JFK, and almost certainly recorded just after his assassination. These tracks do not represent Paul Simon's greatest work, but they have a great deal of historical value. Both disks have more unknown material on the b-sides, though I can't identify the artists.
