Backstory: "Many of the cues that ended up in 2001: A Space Odyssey were added at the last minute, but the original score by the late Alex North, was abandoned during post production. And North actually didn’t know his score was discarded until he was at the film’s premiere. Mondo has put the score on wax, with liner notes from Jon Burlingame.
