Hello again, folks.  This listing is for the 1978 Japanese LP reissue of Wendy (f/k/a Walter) Carlos's Switched-On Bach, released as part of CBS/Sony's New Best Classics 150 series of reissues.  This album needs no introduction, really -- summed up, it's a synthesized Moog interpretation of classic Bach selections. This reissue was made with CBS/Sony's Crystal Lock Mastering of the late-1970s.  The process entails usage of a special crystal lock direct cutting motor to minimize sound muddiness and improve sound stability, mid-range, sharpness, and sound source localization. Also, note the original rejected cover artwork where Bach is sitting down, wearing headphones plugged into the wrong terminal on the Moog Synthesizer.
This reissue originally sold in Japan for JPY2,300.
I had gotten this at my local 2nd & Charles for a pretty penny, and its condition proves it. The playback from start to finish on both sides is virtually pop-free on last playback (using a Sony PS-LX520 turntable), and there is a minor surface scratch on Side B, Track 1 that hardly (if at all) affects the sound quality (my finger is pointing at its approximate location in the last picture in this listing). The jacket has mild corner wear from storage over several years, and there is a mild smudge on the bottom-right corner on the back cover. The obi is included but separated (the original adhesive was weak) and has a small tear at the top. The thin plastic sleeve that covered the LP has been replaced with a paper sleeve as the plastic sleeve posed a risk of static build-up, thus leading to dust build-up -- you'll see it a lot with Japan-import LPs.
Now, I feel like parting ways with it so someone else can enjoy the interpretations of Wendy and the Moog for slightly less than what I paid for.
