Vinyl Condition
Good+ – Whilst this vinyl has maintained its sheen it does have a number of surface scratches on both sides. None of the scratches stand proud and do not have a major effect on the sound quality. Other than intermittent static, mostly on the run ins to the tracks, there is no major sound deterioration in the audio quality.
Sleeve Condition
Very Good – This laminated sleeve shows slight wear and tear on the edges, however the spine is fully intact. Other than minimal discolouration due to age on the front and rear, there is no major damage to the interior or the exterior of the sleeve.
Additional Information
This is an early pressing on the orange / plum label. The wax run outs are etched with “Do what thou wilt” and “so mote it be” on both sides respectively. This album comes with the full laminated gatefold sleeve with working wheel and printed and made by the EJ Day Group. The labels and the sleeve are marked with Jimmy Page as the Producer and Peter Grant as the Executive Producer. The credit at the bottom of the label shows Warner Bros Music Ltd – later labels are marked as Warner Bros Ltd. The serial number is shown as non-hyphenated 2401001 – later labels show 2401-002. Whilst this album and sleeve do have a number of flaws, overall they are in a good condition and will make a great addition to any Led Zeppelin collector.
