*** 1929 Hot Jazz ***
Here's a early 1950s UK Vocalion issue of these two classic sides.
Killer raw Chicago Jazz stompers. Some of the best stuff made in the 1920s.
Recorded at Gennett's Richmond, IN studio this was issued in the 1920s on Champion as Frisky Foot Jackson And His Thumpers and on Supertone as Graveyard Johnson And His Gang. But the bands real? name (as issued on Gennett) was King Mutt And His Tennessee Thumpers. Now there's three of the coolest names in Jazz.
It has Jazz hero's Punch Miller and Jimmy Blythe, Bluesman Al Miller and possibly features another Bluesman Willie Baker (who was in the studio that day).   Punch Miller, c / King Mutt, cl, as / Jimmy Blythe, p / ? Willie Baker or __ Rodgers, g / ? Al Miller, md, v / ? Marcus
Norman, d. Richmond, IN, February 12, 1929.
