Description
Just when you thought you'd seen every variation of a Beatles album, this "Brown" version of the White album produced in SOUTH KOREA shows up!! I've never seen a photo of it nor can I find one on the web - all I have found was identification of it on "rateyourmusic" website. This is for COLLECTIONS ONLY - the LPs are in fair to poor condition: Side 1 has light scratches, some a few slightly more than light, I'd grade only Fair, Side 2 may be cleanest side of all with still a fair amount of light scratches, but nothing seems major, I would still grade F to maybe G, Side 3 has a major scratch for the first 3 cuts, light scratches otherwise, last 3 cuts may be playable, Side 4 is declared dead on arrival including someone carving his name - see photo. The jacket has a clear tear on front gatefold, no splits otherwise, but edge and corner wear, light ring front and back jacket. Jacket is a bit floppy between the stiff cardboard of commercial LPs and the paper of foreign bootlegs. The matrix has EU-124 with some additional characters stamped, but they also have scratched SWB01-101 with different characters after that.
I'd say both vinyl and jacket have NICE COLLECTOR VALUE, but I wouldn't expect solid play from the records and the jacket is a bit worn. Side 3 has the date 1969 10 23, Side 1 has the date 1970, no other dates seen.
COOL PHOTO OF JOHN AND YOKO, AND POSSIBLY VERY RARE!!. I haven't been able to locate that photo online. It apparently was part of the John and Yoko nude photo shoot for the "Unfinished" album. You can see this very same "Times Business" newspaper lying on the floor to the right of John (left as you look at the photo) from the full unbrushed version of the photo seen at this Christi's Auction link:
