ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!
David Manley has been in the audiophile game a long time. Pioneering huge tube designs in amplifiers, he also has done a slew of very fine recordings, utilizing his own built-from-the-ground-up studio, and, of course, using his own tube electronics throughout the audio capture.
(Of particular note is his Manley "Gold Reference" Stereo Condenser microphones, which remind me sonically of the electrostatic designs of speaker-maker Robert Fulton, years ago. Tasty mics, incredibly defined.)
That said, this was his very first release, LA FOLIA SALZBURG, the recording actually done by European electronics wizard Dr. Frederick J. Bashour, who captures members of La Folia Salzburg playing music of Johann Heinrich Schmelzer, Stefano Bernardi, Johann Joseph Fux, Franz Biber, and Antonio Caldara, all on original instruments of the day.
Make no mistake, the overall sound here is scrumptious, the tapes mastered on Vacuum Tube Logic’s state-of-the-art equipment.
This beautiful sounding set comes to you in double covers, both in fine shape without problem. Inside, are two very well-cut LPs in near-mint condition.
An audiophile 2-record set of great musicianship and energy, recorded super well, and among the first from mastermind Manley at VTL.

Shipping and handling is $5 for up to 5 LPs shipped within the States. Internationally, $14 via airmail for the first LP, $3 each thereafter. (Canada is half that.) Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $5, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail. Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
