Description
For sale are two (2) Giorno Poetry Systems vinyl compilations from the 1980's.
The first release, You're The Guy I Want To Share My Money With (GPS 020-021) is a double disc album from 1981 featuring the work of Laurie Anderson, John Giorno, and William S. Burroughs. The first three sides of the album (A,B, and C) feature the work of each artists, while the fourth side (D) is a unique, triple-groove pressing which, depending on where the needle is dropped will play one of three separate tracks each artist.
The second release, Smack My Crack (GPS 038), was released in 1986 and features music, poetry, and performance/spoken word art from the likes of Nick Cave, Butthole Surfers, Tom Waits, Einstürzende Neubauten, Diamanda Galás, William S. Burroughs, Swans, Chris Stein, Chad and Sudan, and of course John Giorno Band.
Both of these albums offer fantastic glimpses into the experimental, avant garde world of 1980's independent music and performance culture.
Discs are:
You're the Guy. EX with hardly any wear, faint pops may be heard only during quiet parts and some occasional rotational pops on side 3.
Smack, VG-VG+ with light play wear and a few scuffs that produce light hiss and pops, noticeable during quiet parts and moreso on outer tracks.
Jacket are:
You're the Guy. EX with minor corner dings/creases and very light storage wear.
Smack, VG with noticeable though light edge wear, shows signs of slight bending and creasing at opening.
