Vinyl LP record BOX SET:

GEORGE HARRISON "All Things Must Pass"  (Apple STCH 639) original UK 1970 stereo 1st pressing (orange Apple labels) + poster

VERY VERY RARE INDEED! Genuine 1st UK pressing of this all time solo BEATLES classic. Here's what is VERY SPECIAL about this particular pressing:

1) THE BOX. The box set has the "thick spine" with gold lettering, unlike later issues which were considerably thinner. The inside, as you can see from the photos, is orange on the left hand section (with "MADE AND PRINTED IN GREAT BRITAIN" at bottom), but with brown rough un-finished cardboard on the right hand side. WITH a cardboard stiffener which is orange on one side, perfectly matching the left hand side. Apparently only a few hundred of these were ever manufactured before the idea was abandoned as too expensive. Later issues were plain white on the inside right, and later still orange. This example is brown cardboard with ORANGE CARDBOARD STIFFENER. The box is also covered with a "leather effect" finish - later editions are more like a hessian effect.

2) THE RECORDS. Records are all housed in textured coloured inner sleeves, printed in the USA (original issues never came with UK inners). All discs have matrixes ending in -1U denoting very first pressings

Matrix:

Disc 1) YEX 817-1U  and  YEX 818-1U

Disc 2) YEX 819-1U  and  YEX 820-1U

Disc 3) YEX 821-1U  and  YEX 822-1U

3) THE POSTER. Foldout poster is on matt paper, and has pink "PRINTED IN GREAT BRITAIN" text on bottom right corner.

BUYER MUST WAIT FOR INVOICE AT END OF AUCTION - BUYER PAYS EXTRA £7 REGISTERED POSTAGE! POSTAGE QUOTED IS FOR TRIPLE ALBUM BOX + POSTER - THIS IS NOT LIGHT!!!

CONDITION : EX/EX+/EX+/M- (Sleeve/Record)

DESCRIPTION : Firstly the box. The matt paste-on front image is un-laminated, so very hard to find in excellent condition. This copy is excellent, with just some very light wear - front is still perfectly pasted on - no rips, marks or writing. Spine is excellent, with no wear - all edges and corners are fully intact, except outer top right which has split neatly (could be superglued if so desired and you'd never know). Inside the box is immaculate. The cardboard square is pristine.

Records are all in lovely condition, barely any spindle marks - look played a handful of times maximum. Very well looked after indeed, with only one light scuff of side three not affecting the stunning audio. Disc 3 (Apple Jam) could possibly be unplayed. The textured inner sleeves are very fragile and prone to seam splits - disc one has a split along bottom about 7", disc two has a 2" split along bottom, disc three has a 2" split along bottom (and catalogue number neatly written top left). RECORDS WILL BE SENT IN NEW INNER SLEEVES to avoid any further inner sleeve splits...

Poster is in excellent condition - never been near a wall, no splits (even where the corner folds meet - usually prone to tearing) or tears or pin-holes. So, overall - a very nice example of a classic album in its VERY FIRST PRESSING!
