Description
AFRICAN-AMERICAN BLUES AND GAME SONGS - Alan Lomax - The Library Of Congress - AFS L4. This is an ex library copy but the vinyl is in very nice condition. The record has good sheen with very light surface wear. It tracks well and sounds very good. I would grade it VG++. The jacket has a split spine and split in the bottom seam. There is sticker residue on the jacket and I would grade it VG minus. The set includes original paperwork. The record has a lot of great material on it. These recordings were made in the 30's, this record looks as though it was pressed in the early 50's. Musicians include: JIM HENRY * CHARLIE BUTLER * IRWIN LOWRY * VERA HALL * SMITH CASEY * JOHN A. and RUBY T * McKINLEY MORGANFIELD * SANDERS TERRY * ORA DELL GRAHAM * KATHERINE AND CHRISTINE SHIPP * KIRBY INDUSTRIAL SCOOL * HARRIET McCLINTOCK * JOE MCDONALD * MOSES PLATT. These recording were not made in a study but actually in the field, some at prisons or work farms. I am offering the record with a money back guarantee. I you can find these songs on the 78 RPM set it can pull nearly $700, so these are very hard to come by recordings.
