Description
33CX 1497 Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64 Beethoven Romances, No. 1 in G Major Op. 40 and No. 2 in F major Op. 50 Johanna Martzy Philharmonia Orchestra Paul Kletzki
Cover: Very Good (Some laminate peel and a nasty central tear to front, see photo)
Condition: Verg Good + (Some nasty scuffs but, luckily, no scratches that I noticed.)
One of the most collectable violin concerto records on Columbia the 33CX Martzy Mendelssohn is even rarer than the Brahms. Her elegance of phrasing and aristocracy of expression are faultless in a concerto that can sometimes seem a tad sentimental and the playing in the first movement cadenza is awesome indeed. The two fill-ups reveal still more of the elegance, musicianship and genius of this underrated and, in her lifetime, criminally ignored violinist.
All records are guaranteed against audible faults (unless described) on a refund/replace basis, if notified within 14 days of receipt.
