Description

On offer is a copy of a limited edition LP record issued in 1972 by Melbourne radio station 3KZ. It features the 3KZ broadcast of the 1972 AFL (then VFL) grand final between Carlton and Richmond. The commentary team is Ian Major / Jack Dyer / Ted Rippon.

The record features an edited version of the game with emphasis on the last quarter. There are pre game comments by Carlton Captain-Coach, John Nicholls and Richmond Coach, Tom Hafey. There are also after the game comments by Carlton players, Alex Jesaulenko and Kevin Hall + Richmond coach, Tom Hafey and players Royce Hart and Kevin Bartlett.

Of course history tells us it was a victory for Carlton. A great item for any Carlton supporter or the Aussie Rules historian or collector.

The record is in Very Good++ condition. It sounds great. Most copies of this hard to find item are pretty worn. This one has five or six marks (not heavy) but they don’t affect sound quality or listening enjoyment. It comes in a plain paper sleeve. They were not issued in printed covers.
