Description
Up for auction are a set of four one-of-a-kind recordings on 78 RPM discs of music probably intended for period Walt Disney Productions movies. These were not intended for distribution but were apparently working recordings for auditions or as test recordings. These are 78 RPM records used on only one side. The other side is blank. Maybe has some collectable value. I checked the discs and they are all working and in good shape. As follows...
Song Junior the Baboon. The artist sound's familiar but I can't place him. Its about a young baboon who was rather plain looking who grew up to be a good-looking adult baboon.
Reggie The Bee. A song about a hard working Bee named Reggie.
The third one is basically music without lyrics. I believe, a background song for an unknown production.
The Fourth one is a song titled "The Cougar" Kind of dark song about a prowling cougar. It's obviously a demo or rehearsal recording as you can hear a director at the very beginning announcing a "Take" with a buzzer before the song starts.
The original paper sleeves are deteriorating and coming apart.
The recordings came from the estate of a gentleman, Frank Worth, Mr. Worth was a conductor and composer who directed the Hollywood Radio City Orchestra in the 1940's and 1950's. The orchestra supplied much of the background music for both TV and Radio productions in Hollywood. These were apparently used as working projects for Disney. Thanks for looking.
