- I recently aquired a collection of about 400-500 1960s British demos. The owner is a former radio station employee who worked in British radio in the 1960s. She was given hundreds of demo and promotional singles during her time. The collection included many very rare items including this one here. Beatles demos or test pressings rarely are offered for sale and this is a really fantastic and ultra rare collectors' item. Can you afford to miss this one?
- Excellent condition (superb copy!)
Where 2 gradings are given grading is cover / record

Gradings & Abbreviations:
M Mint - a perfect, probably unplayed record Ex Excellent - close to like new with only superficial signs of use that don't affect play. Only well cared for records will grade out to EX. Will satisfy all but the most demanding collector. VG Very Good - a used, well played copy. There will be obvious signs of wear, surface marks & surface noise during quiet passages, but still quite nice and should play ok and all the way through.- Any minus or plus additions to the above gradings will indicate a grade just below or above.

On 03-Apr-11 at 21:12:28 BST, seller added the following information:
----I should mention that after playing the 45 once today (to check if this is the released version, which it is) I noticed that the paper label lifts slightly along its edge on the b-side (DON'T LET ME DOWN). This is probably due to the fact that the glue used 40+ years ago is not as strong as it was. The label is still affixed and pretty solid with no damage at all. You can just see that the colour underneath the labels is plain white. It is interesting to note, that under the paper label you can feel the push out centre intact! I have made further enquiries regaridng this item but cannot find another copy ever sold (on the internet anyway).
I also want to remind all bidders that this single came from the ORIGINAL OWNER (the Lady who worked for the radio station) who was given it as (I presume) as preview copy, possibly for air play.
I make this assumption because some of the other demo singles (NOT this Beatles one) from this collection had letters with them asking the record to be played on the "radio programme" (that the lady worked on). So my assumption is that this test pressing is one that was intended for play (as an exclusive perhaps) before the single was available either as a demo (do demos exist?) or as an officially released single.
Apart from the 2 Beatles 45s, the collection has one further APPLE 45 demo (McCartney's ANOTHER DAY) and an APPLE PROMO LP by BADFINGER. So it appears that Apple's press department where not too good at getting regular copies to our lady. She had seemed to get more regular DEMO items from labels such as VERVE, MGM, COLUMBIA (lots of Cliff) but also PARLOPHONE. Maybe the Apple connection was not so good because Apple were fairly certain they would get airplay anyway. But that is for someone else to know!
