Description
4AD Compilation - Lonely Is An Eyesore - CAD D 703
Bought new by me in 1987, this remains a superb example of some of the best in 80s art and design, as epitomised by 4AD and 23 Envelope.
Rare, limited edition first release, packaged in a slipcase containing a three-way fold-out jacket and glossy twenty-four page booklet.
Cover is in excellent condition with only the very slightest wear to two corners, as pictured. Inner sleeve and booklet are near mint.
Record is in excellent condition, having been little played and well-protected by the strong outer. Visually the vinyl is shiny and clean with no scratches apparent. Play testing, listening critically with headphones, I heard very little surface noise, with no pops or ticks. The only exception is the last four or five seconds of side one, where a periodic tick is evident. But this is right at the very end of the track, and into the lead-out.
Track listing:
- "Hot Doggie" (Colourbox)
- "Acid, Bitter and Sad" (This Mortal Coil)
- "Cut the Tree" (The Wolfgang Press)
- "Fish" (Throwing Muses)
- "Frontier" (Dead Can Dance)
- "Crushed" (Cocteau Twins)
- "No Motion" (Dif Juz)
- "Muscoviet Musquito" (Clan of Xymox)
- "The Protagonist" (Dead Can Dance)
Happy bidding!
