Description
You are bidding on five (5) 10-inch RCA Victor Program Transcription disks from the early 1930s. In September 1931, Victor introduced a 10” record that offered up to 14 minutes of playing time per side. This was achieved by doubling the number of grooves per inch and slowing down the speed of the record to 33-1/3 revolutions per minute. Unfortunately, these records were introduced during the Great Depression when record sales were down and few people could afford one of the elaborate RCA Victor radio-phonographs required to play these new Program Transcription records. Only a relatively few of these records were sold before they were discontinued. Today, they are very hard to find and are eagerly sought after by serious record collectors. The five records continued in this lot are as follows:

These records were all purchased through record auctions conducted by Kurt Nauck. They come from a non-smoking household and are in good condition for their age with no cracks, or signs of excessive wear. (Please see the photos posted with this auction.)
