frogmorton at last, uk 1st pressing on philips with a very rare and unknown photo insert, all in strong ex bar a tiny sliver of a sticker tear top right at the edge of the philips logo, see last photo.  this band are a top class early seventies prog folk band who performed at the same time as the trees,cob,mellow candle, pentangle, sandy denny et al, BUT they didnt get an lp together until 1977 hence the title "at last" , same year as the first spriguns and just as rare, but somehow this remains overlooked (like the wonderful evensong lp also on philips). its electric folk, top level, with great female vocals from an attractive young lady with long flowing locks just visible in the titchy back cover photo. its hard to understand why the usually sexist pigs in lp marketing didnt insist on having her on the front cover, and the sales would have doubled. then again the meek sisters are barely glimpsed on catapilla and not at all on j j savarin, and they were maybe the hottest lady progsters of the time...sigh...the only downpoints with frogmorton are the mediocre band name which sounds a bit unattractive, and the somehow slightly dull cover. you can compare this with the spriguns and i prefer frogmorton as its earthier in contrast to the overproduced smooth and easy-folk of spriguns and mandy mortons cloying too-upfront-in-the -mix singing.  if only frogmorton had put an lp out in 1973.

ex-/ ex cover is perfect bar a thin sliver of a sticker tear top right just on the edge of the small philips logo, 2mm wide, 1cm long. spine fully leginle no wear, disc ex. insert photo is ex and shows a bunch of hippies and an attractive willowy lass who sings. if she had been on the cover in a flowery dress this would be £300.
ive listed around 60 rare progressive, psych, folk and blues lps on ebay in a big clear out, please click other items if interested to see them all. they are all getting harder to find as the years go by, and prices and demand seems to have gone stratospheric.
all are 1st pressings, original uk editions.
all lps are placed in period/vintage plain paper inner sleeves. any generic polylined inner sleeves have been discarded as they are unsafe and damage lps, as per the policy of many serious collectors.  old pvc lined inners are ageing, chemically unstable,  and sticking to lps, paper inners are the only currently known way to avoid it. vertigo inners are retained and sent outside the covers to avoid damaging contact.
most photos show the fronts, backs, spine and labels so cover condition is fully visible in the photos.
lps listed include sam apple pie, hungry wolf, gerry lockran, mike westbrook love songs, shape of the rain, cressida, idle race, five day week straw people, dransfield, fuschia, rockin horse, gentle giant, and the now very rare aubrey small lp with insert.
grading is mainly visual, all the lps have been fully or partly tested mainly on the run in and first tracks, and any visible defects have been played through to see if theres any audible results.
tested on lenco/cyrus/tannoy 60s/70s equipment.
