I have been selling off lately my prized classical collection. Now I'm selling off a collection acquired by a Decca engineer who used to work for the company in the 50's through to the 70's. I acquired this collection 7 years ago from an auction in London and I have never played them since, only to test of course. Due to a family illness, I have to start thinking about the future hence the reason for selling my records. I will combine postage and all airmail orders WILL be sent registered. This is not negotiable. I will also be selling off Living Stereo test pressings, more SXL test pressings and SXL recordings with the London label still attached.
The following are all test pressings. Every sleeve is in NEAR MINT condition. The records are minimum EXCELLENT. Just light scuffing on some. Where there are two records in a set, one side will be blank.
ARGO ZRG 5500. Haydn. Mass in B flat. Runnett and Guest. Not your traditional test pressing as both sides are actually on one record. The earlier Decca recordings had one record for one side. GROOVED label and all 1st stampers with 1G 1G matrix. 1 RECORD.
ARGO ZRG 5420. Simon Preston. Reubke & Reger. As above and again the matrix numbers end in 2G 2G. All 1st stampers. Grooved label. 1 RECORD
SXL 2159. Joan Sutherland sings operatic arias. SXL written on the labels. 1E 3D matrix numbers, all 1st stampers otherwise. Grooved label with printed info and small handwriting for the disc number. 2 RECORDS.
SXL 2124. Beethoven symphony no 5. SOLTI. 2 Records. 1 White / pink and the other is blue / pink. Matrix numbers end in 1K with first stampers, 1 and B, AS ABOVE WITH THE OTHERS. Text on label has CS 6092 which was the LONDON RECORDING.
SXL 2219. Richter. Bach recital. 2 records. GROOVED. Matrix numbers end in 3D. Printed text denoting SXL. No sleeve and both records are pink / blue.
SXL 2163. Boskovsky. Vienna Carnival. MATRIX NUMBERS 1E 2E. Printed text SXL. Outer grooved pressings. 2 RECORDS.
