Hello all you Sixties Soul, Girl Group & Motown connoisseur's out there
What you are looking at here is a beautiful handmade picture sleeve (Only) made for the 1965 Motown VIP US label released single "A Bird In The Hand" by the great Velvelettes VIP 25030. This stunning piece of art has been made and designed to the style of the British Garrod & Lofthouse EP original picture sleeves of the classic Sixties period. This sleeve (protector) has been made in high quality card and has that famous laminated front cover just like the Sixties British EP's with even the "Flipback" flaps on the rear for added strength. As you would all well know in their heyday none of the regular US released 45s from the Sixties or Seventies were ever released in front "laminated card" only paper although the 60s British EP's would get that privilege.
Please note that this is not a company item in anyway but an individual hand-crafted item made lovingly by a collector for collectors. All sizes are true to the Garrod & Lofthouse Sixties spec so it can be used to house the 45 single no problem. Also in keeping true to the American style these sleeves take the record from the top and not the side like all the European sleeves did........please note that there is no record included.
This Picture Sleeve (protector) is made from only using the best of materials - the fronts are printed on premium glossy photo card of 260gsm, which keeps the colours deep and rich, and is then laminated just like the British sixties originals. The rears are once again top quality card which are slightly thicker than the original card used in the sixties.
As you all well know the Motown and its related labels Picture Sleeves did not have information on the backs only advertisements for current available albums. Although we have included that original charm we have also designed and put the singles songwriters as these are such collector’s items now I feel they deserve that respect I hope all you collectors approve. Whether you have a company sleeve, you're an avid collector or a Northern Soul DJ out on the road this is a beautiful piece of art that would have people talking noticing and looking.
