I've made the decision to sell some of my very large collection of 7", 12" and LPs.
ALL THE ITEMS I AM SELLING COME FROM OVER THIRTY YEARS OF COLLECTING.

This particular group of Debonaires started out as a trio, and were signed to Ed Wingate's Golden World label, late in 1964. Joyce Vincent, Dorothy Garland, and Elsie Baker, recorded two singles for the label, before deciding to add a fourth member as lead singer. The part was taken by 15-year-old Diane Hogan, who sang on a further two Golden World 45s. A move to Lebaron Taylor's Solid Hit label, in mid-1966, resulted in another two singles, but The Debonaires called it a day in early 1967. The recording career of this fine group was over in a little more than two years.
The addition of a proper lead to the group turned The Debonaires into a really fine soul outfit, as opposed to just a black girl group. This is shown to perfection in "How's Your New Love Treating You?", which had already appeared as the A-side of their third single (not for sale). A plaintive string section opens the proceedings, and the vocals are sheer magic. Listen to the sound clip if you need convincing. The official A-side is another cracking mid-tempo dancer, and sounds rather like The Marvelettes. It has one of those honking sax breaks, so typical of Detroit soul of the period.
As usual, I'm starting my bidding at a tenth of the current Manship price.

Both labels are beautiful.
The edges are completely chip-free.
