I've made the decision to sell some of my very large collection of 7", 12" and LPs.
ALL THE ITEMS I AM SELLING COME FROM OVER THIRTY YEARS OF COLLECTING.

Here's a Detroit classic that shouldn't need any introduction - except, perhaps, to Kev Roberts. I can't believe it isn't listed anywhere in his Northern Soul Top 500 (it's not even in the runners-up). Surely that's an oversight. It's an outstanding one-off, that I've just played again to confirm. I've no idea why Ed Crook only recorded this one single, but I'm certainly happy he did.
Detroit's Tri-Sound label had a short-lived run of just two releases, both in 1966 (the other was by The Devotions). The label was owned by Robert Eaton and Benjamin Knight, who were later two-thirds of The Brothers Of Soul (along with Fred Bridges). The Soulful Detroit site, however, states that Major Reynolds was proprietor.
A. Perfect Detroit soul #1; exceptional uptempo dancer; crashing cymbals; honking sax; clever use of pizzicato strings in the break; femme backing; simply sensational.
B. Perfect Detroit soul #2; not as well-known, but another awesome uptempo Motor City dancer; more of that honking sax; memorable femme refrain; magic.
While this is an original copy (NOT the 70s count?!feit), and does have a Nashville matrix stamped in the deadwax of both sides, there is an even scarcer design, with *** in between the 'Tri' and 'Sound', and no address around the bottom rim of the label.
As usual, I'm starting my bidding at a tenth of the current asking price.
The vinyl has a few light stylus drag marks on the A-side, plus some play signs around the edge. The sound quality, however, is close to perfect. The B-side only has one similar "spiders web", and again plays like new.
The A-side label has a small dirt smudge (see first scan, 4 o'clock). The B-side label has a smattering of very light dirt in places (probably ring-wear) (see second scan).
The edges are completely chip-free.
This record has been played on both sides to verify condition, but there's a full money-back guarantee on all my sales, and I'll refund anyone who isn't totally captivated.
