There was a time in the late 70s when it was quite difficult to escape Lou Roberts' M-G-M recordings, with or without his backing group (The Marks). In fact, he was nearly as prolific as Bobby Goldsboro back then! "Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Love" was the first of his three M-G-M tunes to appear on the scene, played by Wigan Casino's top jock, Richard Searling. He gave it deck space in the late summer of 1977, under the cover-up guise of 'Willie Hutch'. It was followed by the catchy "Ten To One" in the spring of 1978, spun by both Russ Winstanley at Wigan, and Ian Clark at the Yate all-nighters, down in deepest Gloucestershire.

"You Fooled Me" was the last of the three Roberts' dancers to turn up on Northern playlists. It appeared on the decks at the Casino later in 1978, once again thanks to Richard Searling. All three soon received the unwelcome attentions of the 'press gang', being booted in 1979 on the M-G-M Special Products label. The producer of "You Fooled Me" was Stan Kesler, who had just done similar work on one of M-G-M's biggest hits of the period, namely "Wooly Bully" by Sam The Sham & The Pharaohs. Don Culver had a hand in writing most of Lou's material (including "You Fooled Me", "Ten To One", and "Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Love").

I've just had a look to see if there are any other copy's on eBay at the mo, and spotted one in similar condition, but at a 'Buy It Now' price of £70. I must be mad to offer my copy at such a low starting price!

A. Thumping mid-tempo Wigan oldie; catchy, sing-a-long lyrics, like "I thought I had you wrapped around my finger"; listen in full via the above youtube link.

B. Excellent dancer in it's own right; very like Arthur Alexander in vocal style.

This one is currently priced by Manship at £75 for a minter (£60 for a slightly more common demo copy).

The vinyl has a number of light surface marks, but nothing which affects the sound quality - which is approaching near-mint throughout. 

Both labels are immaculate

The edges are completely chip-free.
