60s NEW YORK NORTHERN SOUL
ORIGINAL U.S. ISSUE
THE EPITOME OF THE CROSSOVER GENRE
IF YOU HAD PLAYED THIS B-SIDE AT A VENUE LIKE WIGAN CASINO BACK IN THE 70s, THEN YOU WOULD ALMOST CERTAINLY HAVE BEEN COMMITTING D.J. SUICIDE, AND WOULD HAVE BEEN LAUGHED AT OR BOOED OFF THE STAGE; HOW TIMES HAVE CHANGED!; THIS INCREDIBLY POWERFUL SIDE IS NOW THE ONE THAT MOST SOUL LOVERS BUY THE RECORD FOR; THE TUNE WAS SELF-PENNED, SO IT'S NOT A VERSION OF ANY OTHER SIDE WITH A SIMILAR TITLE (GARLAND GREEN OR THE TEMPTONES, FOR EXAMPLE) THE OFFICIAL A-SIDE WAS PENNED BY BOB DYLAN OF COURSE, AND IT TRANSFERS OVER TO THE SOUL GENRE VERY WELL; FREDDIE SLOWS HIS VERSION DOWN - ALMOST TO A SNAIL'S PACE; SORRY, NO YOUTUBE LINK FOR THIS SIDE, BUT THE SONG IS WELL--KNOWN
