Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The UPPA TRIO
USA - KAL RECORDS (PRIVATE)
IN BOLD MONOPHONIC SOUND!
:::: MEGA RARE ::::
500 COPIES PRESSED in 1964 ...remains one of the elite top- -flight USA GARAGE collectibles ... right on the verge when the Surf rock scene was turning over to garage rock, you get the best of both worlds in the YETTI MEN.
A double sided split album. The Yetti Men on side Two, The Uppa Trio on side One
Here's one of the all-time surf-rock/garage-rock gems from the Yetti-Men - it's highlighted by the absolutely haunting "High Himilaya." Check it out on youtube and that gets you the flavor of sound by the Yetti Men! Total reverb guitar dominated cookers, all tracks rate inspired, driven & high!
The Yetti's reportedly recorded their set in the gym of the high school where all the members were still students.
The YETTI MEN sound is pure & charmingly "crude & primitive" just the way fans of garage-rock '60s like it....if the reverb drenched guitar doesn't do it for you then raw garage rock is not your thing. The flip side featuring the Uppa Trio gets maligned by critics but for all practical purposes being a folk guitar trio - they hold their own in that genre. Make no mistake, the album is all about the fabulous Yetti Men...
From Minnetonka Minnesota, The Yetti-Men line-up consisted of Lee Hanson (lead guitar), Henry "Skip" Webster (rhythm guitar), Joel Peterson (bass), Brian Mahin (sax, keyboards), and Jim Robinson (drums). No information could be found to identify the musicians in the Uppa Trio. A close look at the photograph on the Uppa Trio shows that the head of the guitar player was "photo-shopped" into the photo. At least six tracks were laid on tape in February and March of 1964. These were: High Himalaya, Wine Wine Wine, My Baby Left Me, Blue Surfer, Yep, and Break Time. A total of 500 copies of the album were pressed at the Kay Bank Pressing Plant in Minneapolis. This record has never been reissued in any format.
Deadwax stamps read as follows:

The Uppa Trio - Springhill Disaster
The Uppa Trio - Come Along Julie
The Uppa Trio - Colony Days
The Uppa Trio - Funk
The Uppa Trio - Green Grow the Lilacs
The Uppa Trio - Two Hobos
The Uppa Trio - Moscow Nights
SIDE B:
Yetti-Men - High Himalayas
Yetti-Men - Wine, Wine, Wine
Yetti-Men - My Baby Left Me
Yetti-Men - Blue Surfer
Yetti-Men - Yep
Yetti-Men - Break Time
CONDITION: The cover: rated: VG++ pretty clean actually, other copies that have surfaced have far more cover wear. This cover does have light sticker removal residue shadow at upper left in a couple places. Light enough that is not showing up in photo, but there if closely inspected. However, still a very clear cover with only minimum minor wear, nothing much at all. Remains a delightful rarity that barely show up and not getting any easier to find. 500 copies pressed 53 years ago and only sold at local dance concerts reflects the obvious when advising being rare in any condition... There are no delete marks, no split seams, no bends, and no writing ... VERY collection worthy ...
The vinyl: Rated: VG(+) lots of bright shine remains and only very light hairlines. Play grade was thoroughly enjoyable, plays without issue other than random surface ticks here or there, but largely no surface noticed. One of the private KAL labels had a rectangle sticker removed and (see photo) residue/marks remain, again nothing too much, other Kal label (side one) is clean ...
A cool addition to anyone's music library!
