PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. MEGA-RARE 1966 Original ... HIGHLY RATED world-class garage-beat-surf gem, a true classic of the era and beats by miles most garage/beat & UK Invasion bands ...
Back in the '90s, copies of this album were unheard of being available and would easily get $800 and up .... Clearly remember one high end buyer paying $1500 for a copy and collectors were marveling over the fact that a copy was obtained, the cost only secondary.
"The Flipper's" were a world-class act, a Colombian rock group lead by crazy-great guitarist by Arturo Astudillo. The band were wound up in tight unification, easily surpassing the talents found in most garage bands. The Flippers were on par with the greats of the era and center on the "cool" sounds of the British Invasion ala the Yardbirds meeting the Kinks groups, then expanding to their own style...the album is filled with a lot of heavy, dense, wild and fast surf and garage fuzz....to put it one way!
The origin of The Flippers goes back to 1964 when Arturo Astudillo (guitar) and Carlos Martínez (bass) started The Thunderbirds. One year later, with Miguel Durier (guitar and vocals) and Guillermo Acevedo (drums) on board, they changed their name to The Flippers, after the American TV series featuring the famous dolphin "Flipper." After paying their dues on stage playing until they were razor sharp, when they were discovered and signed, releasing their first album, Discothèque, in 1966, featuring an impressive array of go-go garage songs even sung in English as well as trademark surf/garage filled with heaps of reverb and fuzz overload, including monster originals like "Impromptu Jazz a Go-Go" and "Master Flipper. " The Flippers were hands down one of the outstanding bands of the Colombian garage beat scene, and managed to release two important albums.Their second, "Psicodelicias" is a classic album performed with raw, direct energy and enhanced by simple production -- more hard edged garage numbers with some choppy riffs, again somewhat reminiscent of the early Kinks but more of a psychedelic edge. Both albums are certainly worth tracking down, featuring great tremolo & fuzz guitar as their center-point.

CONDITION: The cover: rated: plastic coated fragile Colombian sleeve is VG++ only in that the outer plastic protecting cover - which is encased over the cover, is slightly scuffy from being around 50+ years. Take the outer plastic off and actual cover would be near M- which is fantastic for a teen scene relic from this area of the world. There are no delete marks, no split seams, no bends, and no writing ... VERY collection worthy rarity...
The vinyl: Rated: visually: VG(+) or weak VG+ ONLY for small micro top surface scuffs, nothing deep, plays with strong audio (there is some little underlying surface but predominately plays without issue and overall enjoyable.) Obviously would be more than hard to find in any better condition. Both ZEIDE labels are clean with exception of two (light) letters in pen on one side.
A cool addition to anyone's music library!
