DESCRIPTION: The Gentle'Men is one of those fantastic garage bands of the mid-'60s that had high hopes of gaining fame, riches and girls, girls, girls, only to appear on one record and then disappeared forever. The group is very young and has a fresh sound that is a real attraction for '60s rock collectors. What a pity the Gentle'Men didn't make it. Their music is great! Come On is a super psych rocker that had some really original material and great musicians. This is the type of mid-'60s rock you don't want to listen to just once and then stash it away on a shelf--it's a '60s garage band at its best that you have to play several times! The flip side, Only Me, is a lovely ballad sung by a great lead singer with outstanding backing by the other singers and the band. There's a lovely sound on this song created by the use a violin in the band. It has an effect similar to the Left Banke's Pretty Ballerina, only guess what?--the Gentle'Men with this sound BEFORE the Left Banke! This is a really exciting two-sider. It's '60s rock at its best! CONDITION: The record looks and plays like new. It has some extremely fine, light scuffs that don’t at all take away from the looks or sound. What an amazing disk!
