2-LP LOT up for grabs; the first is a 1967 STEREO first pressing of the classic British blooz-boom rocker featuring famed guitarist Peter Green
the stereo release is ***still in original factory shrink wrapper and mint
PLUS:
1967 extremely rare MONO first pressing with different song mixes and a big punchy (mono) production, much different from the stereo release...
John Mayall understood the high risk of staleness that came with blues rock territory in the sixties and offered a fairly diverse production overall with the 1967 release A HARD ROAD
The standout here is the minor blues "Another Kinda Love" - tremendous amounts of echo on everything, cool Stax sound and organ playing, and drums keeping time by mainly hitting the rim of the snare. Following this is the piano-and-guitar-only "Hit the Highway", very sonically dry by contrast. Following that, the backing spice return for "Leaping Christine", a song that somehow manages to swing pretty convincingly. Also adding to the diversity are two Peter Green lead vocals, on "You Don't Love Me" and "The Same Way."
Elsewhere, "Dust My Blues" has some intertwining electric and slide guitar lines going for it, and "The Supernatural" IS the blueprint for Carlos Santana (Peter Green later wrote Santana's hit "Black Magic Woman"). "Living Alone" features more slide guitar from Peter Green that really draws the listener in, for whatever reason, it's like Green knows how to play slide *harder* than possible - it sounds almost out of tune with the rest of the band.
Surprisingly Green’s style of eerie imaginative instrumentals and heart breakingly sad blues, was already highly developed as early as late 1967. He was only 20 years of age.

LP #1 (stereo issue) The cover of the stereo release is MINT, still in original factory shrink wrapper and makes for a killer collectible, worthy of getting excited over = no bends, no seam splits, no writing...just clean and sharp display worthy
The vinyl of the stereo release is all slossy clean and smooth M-
LP #2: The cover of the MONO issue: The cover design differs from the mono issue in that it is 'raised' up ... even so, it is clean and solid, no seam splits and solid VG++ to "EX" (excellent) nicely collectible
The vinyl, some light soft hairlines here or there, nothing much, unfortunately has a very small pressing defect (what appears to be) on side one, third track(vg) and otherwise all the rest is VG++ with glossy surface that plays very well...
A cool addition to anyone's music library!
