Description

Please note that this disc is a modern repressing or reproduction.  A clean copy of an original disc has been used as a "father" or "master matrix" to make new tooling to create this modern version.  Over the next several months I will be listing SEVERAL HUNDRED additional reproductions of the some of the most iconic, desirable and fun recordings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. 

This listing is for the disc pictured, a reproduction copy of E. Berliner 253 Z "Princess Bonnie Waltzes" (or walzes, as per the label).  This disc is special due to it being Fred Gaisberg being the performer, Gaisberg is the most famous audio engineer of the era and is known for his work with Berliner and the Gramophone Co.  The original from which this was copied is one of the cleaner surviving copies (cleanest?), and despite scuffs and light scratches, it plays well.  This is not only a historic recording, due to Gaisberg, but is also a better example of an early piano recording.
