Description

Earl Nightingale LEAD THE FIELD 1968 Nightingale-Conant Corp. 7 LPs in 4 very classy upscale sleeves. The gold records on the sleeve feel like they are made of some kind of metal The outer sleeve that holds  "The strangest secret" also folds out like a desk award. These were specially made reissue in a very limited set as prizes to winners of a contest. (more info right above "Grading" below") There were earlier pressings of this on books of 45rpm 7". There was also what was called an "Executive edition" which was also 7 12" records but it wasn't near as classy looking as this. Vinyl: looks EX+ to NM plays VG++ to EX  I listened to 100% of all 7 records to play grade Sleeves: EX+ I switched out the generic inner sleeves for audiophile sleeves

RECORD 7

THE STRANGEST SECRET- The Strangest Secret was a 1956 spoken word record by Earl Nightingale, which sold over one million copies and received the first Gold Record for the spoken word. It helped launch the fields of business motivation and audio publishing.  Earl Nightingale introduces the everyday public to the idea that you become what you think about. This idea took off and is today more commonly known as the law of attraction. This of course is a 1968 reissue.

These sets were given away to the winners of a 1968 contest by Field Enterprises Educational Corporation by the President of the company Robert R. Barker. Field Enterprises, Inc. was a private holding company that operated from the 1940s to the 1980s, founded by Marshall Field III and others, whose main assets were the Chicago Sun and Parade magazine. For various periods of time, Field Enterprises also owned publishers Simon & Schuster and Pocket Books, broadcaster Field Communications, and the World Book Encyclopedia. It also operated a syndication service, Field Newspaper Syndicate, whose most popular offering was the comic strip Steve Canyon.
