I recently picked these up from a second hand store. I don't know lots about classical records but I know enough to appreciate a collection like this is not the norm. I can't remember seeing so many wide band SXLs and stereo Columbia's on the silver/turquoise label before
I've split them into 3 so please see my other listing
Please look at the condition of the sleeves. They are covered in wear and aging spots, they look like they have been stored in a shed or loft for years and subjected to damp.
Please note the writing on the rear of the sleeves, possibly they were from a radio station or similar.
I pulled out about 40 that looked the most interesting and once I'd checked the condition and put any back that were too far gone I was left with 25.
I have not cleaned the records. Look at the sleeves, the records have been subjected to the same conditions.
These records are a risk, but with some attention and good cleaning technique hopefully some will be well worth the effort of rescuing. I rejected any with obvious marks, just kept the ones that looked like theyd be VG++ condition with cleaning. Obviously I can't guarantee this and for classical records that might as well be VG. PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND
My cleaning method is not advanced enough for classical records like this. Hopefully yours is. They were cheap to me (€2 each) so I'm starting them at a low price. Yes in mint condition a few of them are worth a lot more but I'm not deluded. I do not have the time or inclination to clean them all and accurately play grade them all in order to try and achieve the highest price.
