Description
Bands from the 1970s are mostly gone by now. There are several exceptions, and we still have quite a few that have remained active, to this very day. Black Sabbath just wrapped it up with Ozzy, and a final tour a few years ago. Kiss ended touring this month. Aerosmith is plotting and planning their farewell tour, and ZZ Top keeps going. So, so many bands. A few can do arena tours (like Journey), and some are even doing the casino circuit, (not that there's anything wrong with that. I've seen MANY awesome bands at casinos!).
Vinyl LPs from the 70s and the 80s, (and some 90s classics) are in demand, and fans love to collect them! Their artwork decorates living spaces, dorm rooms, bedrooms, man caves, and she-sheds, just to name a few. An album is nostalgic, but it's also art. And like anything else in this world, some art is better than others!
Up for your consideration today is a THREE album deal, featuring THREE great 70s artists (who are actual ALL still around to this very day, still releasing new music, still performing, and still relevant!)
We'll start with Whitesnake. The band David Coverdale formed after he released his two solo records once he was out of Deep Purple. Whitesnake dropped their debut album in 1978. The UK version has a different cover than the US version. In my humble opinion, the US version is risque and controversial (check out the pic. Look carefully at the snake's mouth. You'll see what I'm talking about!), and the original UK version is plain and pretty tame. This band effort (as the first Coverdale solo album is named 'White Snake', in 1977) has a few great tracks on it, such as a Beatles remake ("Day Tripper"), "Lie Down (A Modern Love Song)", and "Take Me With You". This is awesome, bluesy British hard rock!
Next up is Aerosmith, and their 1977 hard rock masterpiece 'Draw the Line". The cover's artwork is, of course, drawn! It's a great sketch of the band members, and the back cover is the song titles, on a plain white background. This one gave us the hits "Kings and Queens" and the smokin' title track. Aerosmith proves that they are a force to be reckoned with on this album!
Last, we have the 1979 effort from Angel, and their album 'Sinful'. It is said that Gene Simmons of KISS discovered Angel in a nightclub. Whether or not that's true, Angel DID get signed to KISS's record label Casablanca! The band, with two original members left (Punky Meadows and Frank Dimino) released a new album earlier this year called 'Once Upon a Time'! Angel was glammed out, all in white, while KISS was in black. That was the gimmick...Angel was the anti-KISS!
Whitesnake's LP 'Trouble' is STILL SEALED and NEVER OPENED or PLAYED! The shrinkwrap is coming off in spots, but overall, still intact. There's some shelf-wear, but the vinyl inside should be in immaculate condition! The Aerosmith vinyl is looking really, really good, and is still all shiny and clean. Comes with its original inner sleeve. Jacket could be a little whiter, but still pretty white and looking great. It does have a little shelf-wear, mostly on the corners, but that's to be expected from something that's over FORTY FIVE years old! Angel is looking very, very good, as well. No scratches, gouges, or scuffs. A little shelf-wear on the outside of the jacket, but again, for something that's almost forty five, it's looking pretty righteous!
Grab this triple shot of 70s rock while you still can. Older vinyl is red hot in 2023, and fans (who were there since the beginning), as well as new fans just getting into these bands now, LOVE vinyl records! What can I say, they are part of the history of rock and roll...
