DESCRIPTION:
Berliner credited to 'Band' with the tune Nancy Hanks written by A. Tregina and published in 1892. Recorded in 1896, there are instances of Berliner 19Y and 19Z, but this appears to be the first time 19X has surfaced. Everything is hand written on the master except the stamped 19X. 'Tregina' is rather faint under 'Schottische'. Plays strong with minimal surface noise. There is a very fine inaudible hair crack that had been stabilized on the underside long ago with a strip glued to the area (see pic).
The 1892 tune was named after a famous race horse Nancy Hanks, a harness racing mare who earlier that year broke the speed record for a mile run and became a national sensation. Nancy Hanks the horse had been named after Abraham Lincoln's mother, and after breaking the speed record, a fast train was named after the horse. Frank Hutchison mentions the train in his recording of "Railroad Bill".

For the most part, they are close to new, possibly having being played a couple times, but all were well cared for until they were boxed up long ago. They will fit into one of the vinyl grades below, and none in lesser condition will be listed with the possible exception of a few rarities.
Vinyl Grading scale:
M- - Like new, as close to new without being still sealed. EX - Similar to M- with very minor handling signs, small superficial scuffs from sliding in and out of jacket. VG+ - Shiny with no groove wear, a few more signs of handling, light inaudible marks. VG - Shiny without the mirror like surface, light signs of groove play, spindle marks, light surface scratches or scuffs. Looking more like a lightly used but well taken care of record.
