The Georgia Cotton Pickers were a Boston based black band that recorded 4 sides released only on Columbia dime store labels. While "Snag It" and "Louisiana Bo Bo" do occasionally surface, the two sides on this scarce Diva are making their first appearance on eBay. By the time of this January 1930 session, jazz was getting more modern and sophisticated, but both "Cotton Picker's Shuffle" and "Twelfth Street Rag" are decidedly old school hot jazz. Cotton Picker's leader George Tynes takes a long showpiece piano solo on "Twelfth Street Rag". A-1 pressing both sides. Plays strong with quiet surface.
