DESCRIPTION: Scarce 78 by early territory jazz band from New Orleans. John Tobin's Midnight Serenaders were only allotted this one master by Okeh on their 1925 field recording trip. After a straight run through a pop melody, they turn up the heat with a rip-roaring jazz treatment of it for the final third. The Scranton Sirens from Pennsylvania were playing a booking in New Orleans at this time and one of their two recordings backs the Tobin. Light visual wear but plays fine - music loud and clear with minimal background noise.
