78 RPM Okeh Bascom Lamar & Blackwell Lunsford 1925 Fate of Santa Barbara #45008
Description:
This listing is for a 10" 78 rpm record from Okeh and performed by Bascom Lamar Lunsford and his brother Blackwell Lunsford. Bascom Lamar Lunsford was a lawyer, folklorist, and performer of traditional music in folk and country genres. He played the banjo and the fiddle. He was often known by the nickname of Minstrel of the Appalachians. He played with a different style, which had a rhythmic up-stroke brushing the strings.
Songs on this record were recorded in Asheville, N.C. in August of 1925 and include:
- Fate of Santa Barbara. #45008-A. Singing accompanied by banjo and fiddle.
- Sherman Valley. #45008-B. Singing accompanied by banjo and fiddle.
This record has been played and was obviously enjoyed. I see many scratches and much wear. I do not have a turntable that can play this record so cannot address sound quality. The label is still intact, and very readable. We do not have the original album cover. We do have an Okeh sleeve but I do not know if that is the original to this record.
Please Note: I find that this is a harder to locate record so am listing it with condition issues.
Please view my pictures for features, details, contents and condition of this very old record.
I have had much experience and success shipping these fragile records and will package appropriately so that your record arrives intact.
Returns are accepted and refunds gladly given upon original item receipt and inspection. Please contact me if you have any questions about an item you have received.
I welcome questions.
