CONDITION: Visual V but plays clear with no distortion
DESCRIPTION:
Here we have a one of a kind acetate made by Nashville radio station WSM from a broadcast they did on May 26, 1953 of the first Jimmie Rodgers Memorial Day celebration in Meridian, Mississippi, the highlight of which undoubtedly was the reunion of the original Carter Family -- A. P., Sara, and Maybelle. Their appearance here is the final public performance of the original Carter Family. Sara had retired, Maybelle continued to perform with her daughters, and A. P. made one of his last public appearances.
They perform one of their classic Victor songs on each side. After they are introduced by the MC of the the event Grant Turner, A. P. gives a short speech and they perform "Anchored in Love". On the flip side, Jimmie Rodgers stylist Charlie Walker leads off with a tribute song "Yodeling Hillbilly Trailblazer". The "Anchored in Love" side finishes with a short greeting from Mrs. Jimmie Rodgers, while "God Gave Noah the Rainbow Sign" ends with a short message from songwriter Elsie McWilliams who co-wrote many of Jimmie's songs.
Along with their original 78s, this acetate complements any Carter Family collection by presenting a 'you are there' moment at this historic Carter Family reunion.

For the most part, they are close to new, possibly having being played a couple times, but all were well cared for until they were boxed up long ago. They will fit into one of the vinyl grades below, and none in lesser condition will be listed with the possible exception of a few rarities.
Vinyl Grading scale:
M- - Like new, as close to new without being still sealed. EX - Similar to M- with very minor handling signs, small superficial scuffs from sliding in and out of jacket. VG+ - Shiny with no groove wear, a few more signs of handling, light inaudible marks. VG - Shiny without the mirror like surface, light signs of groove play, spindle marks, light surface scratches or scuffs. Looking more like a lightly used but well taken care of record.
