78 RPM Record Calypso Trinidad All Steel Pan Percussion Orch. TASPO DANCELAND EX
During this past year, we were blessed to acquire (2) world class LP & 78 RPM
record
collections which we will be dispersing during the coming months on eBay. This LP comes from an estate group assembled by a man who worked for over 20 years in the East Carolina University (ECU) Music Library in Greenville, NC. His interest was mostly Classical & Opera, both LPs & 78s. Some Jazz, Blues, Big Band & also some unusual scholastic related stuff came in from this collection also.
This lifelong collection for the most part is highly discriminating with few lower grade records present.
While, I can not play test these LP records because I do not own a turntable, I am happy to report that the vast majority of these albums remain in the VG++ to EX to NM condition range, with very few exceptions.
Understanding that many LP record collectors do not use liquid cleaners, I have not cleaned any of these discs with any liquid cleaners or anything else for that matter. Some were simply wiped will a dry micro fiber cloth. Hence, some records will show some minor prints, dust & surface soiling. We’ll allow the new owner to clean as they see fit.
I will not describe the label condition (unless there is a chip or crack at the spindle hole) as a picture is worth a 1000 words in this realm.
Vinyl condition will be well described with the flaws well photoed.

I have seen 78s by this historic Trinidad band offered on the Vogue label (C.1951/ 1952) but I have never seen one offered on the Danceland label which would proceed the Vogue discs.
Both this record label & original recordings of this historic band never seem to surface. Below is a brief bio of the historical TASPO Band:

One of the earliest of the Danceland pressings (DL0011), the below link suggests this exceedingly rare seminal calypso recording may date back to as early as 1948!:

The scratching & play wear on this rarity would be considered to be almost non-existent. Both sides would rate in the EX+ range with hardly any observable groove flaws present of any depth. A few faint surface paper scuffs on each side is all.
You really could not hope for a better conditioned copy of this (particularly rare) 78.
With excellent original gloss, the record looks like it was never really played at all.
Please do not confuse the surface dust for damage.

I am not a professional record grader & I do not now own a Victrola to test these on. However, I have sold and closely examined many 100's of 78 records over the past 25 years & I used to own a Victrola.
I have provided a large number of brightly lit photo images for you to inspect. And please inspect the images closely & feel free to email with any questions that you might have.
Any significant flaws like cracks or chips would be duly noted.

All records are securely triple flat board shipped with plenty of bubble wrap, so they arrive to you in excellent shape.

Shipping has been estimated. Cost of bubble wrap, box(es), tape and other supplies have been added into the shipping & handling charges. If the estimated shipping cost is in excess of the actual charge with supplies, I will issue you a refund. However, we under estimate the actual shipping charge for the vast majority of the items that we ship.
I guarantee everything I sell unconditionally if you are not satisfied. I do, however, require that the item be returned in no more than 30 days following arrival and be returned in original condition. I also request that you notify me by email within 3 days of receipt of item. I do want you to be satisfied.
In the case of a return, we pay for shipping one way only. All items are from a smoke free environment.
