This recording was made in 1926 the complete work recorded on 22 June, 2 July, 14 September & 22 October 1926 at Petty France Studios. Electrical recording. Released in December 1926.
This is a 1948 re-issue of these recordings.
It is a seven disc set.
The conditions of the records are all E+, super clean. there is one problem with the set
There are two discs added by the original collector to replace disc number one #72332-D
sides one and fourteen. The replacement discs are from the original London Columbia
Release (1926) The first disc which replaces #72332-D is Disc #L-1528 “Mars” The Bringer Of war”
part one. The second added disc replaces side #14 “Neptune” (conclusion) and it’s #L-1542.
All of the original matrix recording numbers are identical, and the set is complete.
So if you don’t mind an extra disc to complete the set, then you will be happy to own this
beautiful 1926 recording! amazing to think Holst himself is making the recording.
COVER CONDITION - VG- the spine has tape repair - the inner sleeves have some tape repair.
The records are so heavy, I’m sure this is why some of the album covers get damaged.
The set weighs almost 9 pounds!
