Description

(TRIVIALITIES/MT.OLYMPUS ) by ( THE FLOWER POWER )...... ....( A FAN SAYS:this group sounds every bit like a San Francisco outfit but were actually from Gulfport, Mississippi. After a mellow debut 45, their second 45, released as Sandi Craig & The Flower Power features a decent bluesy cover of Bobby Gentry's Mississippi Delta with strong vocals and some searing guitar bursts. The flip to their third 45, Mt. Olympus, is a smouldering slice of psych that erupts at the end with unrestrained manic feedback. In contrast, their final 45 features a laid back, almost lounge-styled, rendition of Love's Orange Skies. Sandi later had some success as a country singer, appearing on a Tennessee Ernie Ford TV special filmed in the USSR, of all places. By then, she was performing under a different last name. Compilation appearances have included: You Make Me Fly on Psychedelic Experience (CD), The Psychedelic Experience, Vol. 1 (LP) and Garagelands, Vol. 2 (LP); You Make Me Fly and Sunshine Day on Acid Dreams, Vol. 3 (LP); Sunshine Day on Psychedelic Archives Vol. 6; Orange Skies on Sixties Rebellion, Vol. 8 (LP & CD); Trivialities on Brain Shadows, Vol. 2 (LP & CD); and Mt.
