8-Lot LP’s GREAT Classic Rock Collection, All Vinyl in VG+ to NM Condition with Inserts!

Please note: These records are not sold for sound quality.  I’m currently without a turntable, and I don’t have the ability to test-play vinyl.  If that’s an issue for you, please skip this auction, as I have no way of guaranteeing their sound quality.

1.  Allman Bros---Eat a Peach

Vinyl--- EX/EX. EX/VG+.  First three sides look nearly unplayed.  Side 4 has a handful of light scratches only, none feelable.

Plates--- 40127-1/40128-3.  40129-2/ 40130-3.  All plate numbers are 3 or below.  Definitely first-pressing plates.

Cover--- VG+.  Light wear only. NO SPLIT SEAMS.

Gatefold--- EX.  Bright graphics, NO CENTER SEAM SPLITS.

Labels--- EX/EX. EX/EX.  A few very light spindle marks per label, otherwise, these labels look brand new.

Inner Sleeve--- Capricorn Company inner sleeves are present and in VG Condition.  Some wrinkles, NO SPLIT SEAMS.

2.  Neil Young--- Harvest

Vinyl--- NM/NM.  This copy is too gorgeous to sell in a lot.  Both sides look absolutely unplayed.

Plates--- 1B/T1.  Machine-stamped “STERLING” on both sides.

Cover--- VG+.  Would have graded Excellent had it not been for a two-inch split in the top pocket.

Gatefold--- Excellent.  Bright graphics, NO CENTER SEAM SPLITS.

Insert--- Excellent.  Lyric sheet is a little wrinkled, but was well-taken care of.

Labels--- NM/NM.  Both labels look brand new, NO SPINDLE MARKS.

Inner Sleeve--- VG+.  Inner sleeve would have graded an easy Excellent, had it not been for some small ballpoint on one side in the top left corner.  Running times and total is written very modestly.  Otherwise, this is a beautiful custom inner sleeve, NO SPLIT SEAMS.

3.  The Band--- Music from Big Pink (Green Label)

**(For those who are disappointed that this is not the rare first pressing on the black Capitol label, there’s also one of those for sale this week.  See other auctions!)

Vinyl--- VG+/VG+.  Both sides have just a few light scratches only, non-feelable.

Plates--- W4/W5.  Hand-etched letter “O” in the trail-off makes this a Jacksonville pressing.

Cover--- VG.  General wear.  No “B.D. 1968” copyright information from the first pressing is on the cover.

Labels--- VG/EX.  Side 1 label has a name written on it as well as sticker stain.  Side 2 label looks great.

Inner Sleeve--- Generic white.

4.  Heart--- Dreamboat Annie

Vinyl--- EX/EX. 

Plates--- MRS 5005-A 11. “Devil Delight.” Machine-stamped Kendun-B./

MRS 5005-A 44. “Go For It.” Machine-stamped Kendun-B.

Cover--- VG.  No splits, but a lot of general wear.

Gatefold--- Same as cover.

Labels--- VG+/VG+.  Labels would grade Excellent, but there are a lot of very light spindle marks per side.

Inner Sleeve--- VG.  No splits, but a lot of general wear. Custom heavy cardboard inner sleeve.

5.  Jethro Tull--- Thick as a Brick (Late 70’s Blue Label)

Vinyl--- NM/NM.  Both sides look completely unplayed.

Plates--- 1B/ 4.

Cover--- Strong VG.  Uniform yellowing and dirtwear.  Small price sticker on back cover.  NO SPLIT SEAMS.

Gatefold--- VG+.  NO SPLIT SEAMS.

Labels--- NM/EX.  Side 1 label looks brand new.  Side 2 label has only a very few light spindle marks.  Perhaps the original owner only listened to Side 1. 

This really is a beautiful copy!

Inner Sleeve--- VG.  Company Chrysalis sleeve from the late 70’s, early 80’s presents very well.  But there are seam splits about 2 inches on two seams.

6.  Pink Floyd--- Dark Side of the Moon

**First pressing LP, later cover.

Vinyl--- NM/EX.  Gorgeous copy.  Side 1 looks unplayed.  Side 2 has two light lines that are non-feelable.

Plates--- F67/G69.  Hand-etched lop-sided triangle makes this a Winchester pressing.

Cover--- VG. 

**NOTE: This is a later Capitol cover with the barcode on the back upper right corner.

Front has some kind of splatter above the prism.  Back cover has two circular stains.  Top and bottom seams have heavy shelfwear.  NO SEAM SPLITS.

Gatefold--- VG+.  NO SEAM SPLITS.

One Poster--- NM.  Looks like it’s never been opened, so I didn’t open it either.

Sticker--- VG+.  Sticker looks great, but the white border has been peeled.

Labels--- VG+.  Both labels have fingerprints and spindle marks.

Inner Sleeve--- Generic white.

7.  Led Zeppelin--- ZOSO (Late 70’s Pressing)

Vinyl--- VG+/VG+.  Both sides retain about 85% original shine, but they also have long, very light scratches that are non-feelable.

Plates--- Specialty pressing.

Cover--- VG+.  Dangerously close to Excellent, had it not been for some ringwear to the top of the back cover.  NO SEAM SPLITS.

Gatefold--- Excellent.  NO SEAM SPLITS.

Labels--- NM/NM.  Both labels look brand new.  Labels have the Warner Bros. “WEA” logo in the perimeter print.

Inner Sleeve--- Generic white.

Still a very nice play copy!

8.  Yes--- Close to the Edge (Early 80’s Pressing)

Vinyl--- NM/NM.  Both sides look absolutely unplayed.

Plates--- Specialty pressing.

Cover--- Excellent.  Full 100% glossy with a flaw or two.  NO SPLIT SEAMS.

Labels--- NM/NM.  Both labels look brand new.

Inner Sleeve--- NM.  Company Atlantic inner sleeve with no die-cut holes for the labels to show.  NO SPLIT SEAMS.

**These eight albums really do constitute a pretty incredible slice of some of the best music of that generation.  Some of us were incredibly lucky to have been there.

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
