Description
I am a 50 year collector of LPs and 45s from the 50s and 60s. I have been an audiophile for 50 years (analog only). This EP is from my personal collection. I have owned it for about 30 years and have played it twice.
The instrumental music in the Beatles' film A Hard Day's Night was played by The George Martin Orchestra. This is a mono EP that has 4 of the original soundtrack instrumental songs from that film. The EP is a Factory Sample and a 1st day pressing. It has The Parlophone Co Ltd in the rim print and the “Sold in U.K…. “ statement across the labels. It was released in early 1965 following the two EPs by the Beatles of their music from the film. It is catalog # GEP 8930.
This is a gorgeous Factory Sample 1st day pressing of this EP. I have had this EP in my personal collection for about 30 years. I have graded it M- but it is essentially a mint condition record. The only reason I have graded it M- is because I have played it twice so I know it has been played. It contains the instrumental versions of the following songs:

Factory Samples were EMI’s version of a promotional record. They were usually the first copies off the presses. Factory Samples were given to EMI executives, to DJs, to reviewers, and to the producer and band members. They are very rare. There were usually only a couple hundred copies, at most, designated as Factory Samples.

The labels are flawless. They show no spindle tracks or marks of any kind. This EP was likely not played more than a few times.
Vinyl: M-
The vinyl is flawless. It shows the sheen and high gloss of a new EP. It is completely free of dust or dirt that would dull its natural sheen and affect its sonic qualities. It plays as new. There are no ticks, pops, or surface noise. You will hear nothing but the music in the songs and silence in the dead wax on the run-ins, run-outs, and between songs.
Sleeve: M-
The sleeve is gorgeous. On close inspection there is the slightest hint of a ‘push’ where the EP’s label pushed against the front of the sleeve. Otherwise, the laminated front panel is flawless. The reverse panel of the EP is flawless, including the flip-back seams.
The British EP sleeves of this era were not shrink-wrapped so this sleeve is as close to perfection as you will find.

This EP will be shipped in a custom mailer box with the record outside of the sleeve. The shipping cost for this EP is $5.00 within the lower 48 states.

The buyer is responsible for any customs or import duties as well as any insurance cost if the buyer chooses to insure the EP.

Shipping costs are not refundable and the buyer pays return shipping. The returned EP must be packaged in the same manner in which it was received and I must receive it in the same condition as it was received by the buyer.
