Although this LP was released in 1991, it quickly became a classic in the soulpop genre. No doubt many music fans will be happy about this LP. Especially because it sounds very exquisite (even the "normal" first pressing was a favorite among the audiophiles!), Bernie Grundman has done a great job here again. Neville reveals himself here in his gentle and warm way, "Warm Your Heart" is a collection of soulpop ballads with sometimes quite opulent, but sometimes intimate instrumentation. Especially noteworthy is the high-ranking guest list: u.a. Larry Carlton, Gregory Adams, Rita Coolidge, Bob Seger and Linda Ronstadt (in duet with Neville at the hit number "Close Your Eyes")! While this album, the Neville debut at A & M, has not kept the traditional New Orleans factor in mind, it's not just the perfect ballads, it's also great numbers like the African-inspired "Angola Bound" or contemplative "Ave Maria" Highlights of pop music! ...............................

Originally issued in 1991, Aaron Neville's second solo album Warm Your Heart finds the Louisiana R&B/soul singer exploring his pop side on a lush and melodically rich collection produced by Linda Ronstadt and George Massengill. In addition to his lone original, "Angola Bound," Neville can be heard in absolute peak form on the singles "Everybody Plays the Fool," "Somewhere, Somebody" and "Close Your Eyes." Both Linda Rondstadt and Rita Coolidge provide backing vocals on multiple tracks while other famous contributing artists here include none other than Ry Cooder, Plas Johnson, Bob Seger, Dr. John and Jim Keltner!

A 1991 release that includes Linda Ronstadt, David Lindley & Ry Cooder. One of Aaron Neville's best. "When Aaron Neville signed with A&M in the early '90s, optimists were hoping for some 5-star soul gems along the lines of his classic '60s recordings. Instead, his first A&M date, Warm Your Heart, found the veteran New Orleans singer taking a much more pop-minded approach, with generally decent results. While Neville didn't abandon soul music, this CD made it clear that A&M was intent on making him a major hit in the pop market (which had been exposed to him in 1989 thanks to his duets with Linda Ronstadt). Though hardly in a class with such classics as 'Tell It Like It Is' and 'She Took You for a Ride,' tracks like the haunting 'That's the Way She Loves,' the gritty 'Angola Bound,' and a remake of the Main Ingredient's 'Everybody Plays the Fool' showed that Neville still had plenty of warmth and charisma."

Zwar ist diese LP erst 1991 erschienen, aber dennoch wurde sie schnell zum Klassiker im Soulpop-Genre. Zweifellos werden sich viele Musikfans auf diese LP freuen. Ganz besonders auch deshalb, weil sie ganz vorzüglich klingt (schon die "normale" Erstpressung war ein Favourit unter den Audiophilen!), Bernie Grundman hat hier wieder ganze Arbeit geleistet. Neville zeigt sich hier von seiner sanften und warmen Art, "Warm Your Heart" ist eine Sammlung von Soulpop-Balladen mit einer teils recht opulenten, aber auch mal intimen Instrumentierungen. Besonders bemerkenswert ist zweifellos die hochrangige Gästeliste: u.a.
