AC/DC : Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap A5 / B4 (Germany)

This classic album plays to a superb standard with no interference.  The clarity and power of the audio is as strong as it ever was and there are no ticks, clicks, pops or static.  If I was being super-critical there is perhaps just a touch of inner groove distortion towards the end of S1 but it is so minimal and totally non-intrusive.  The vinyl is visually stunning and has clearly only ever been lightly played, it has been preserved so well.

The cover has also been so well looked after with no obvious wear and still has the original price sticker on the front plus the large yellow (!) sticker.  The plain white poly-lined inner has only very minimal wear, there was no printed inner produced with this edition.

This German edition is I believe a repress from either '82 or '83.  Discogs does not state the year but there is a very similar one dated as '82.  The inner sleeve does have N 38/1/5 printed on one side so maybe 38 refers to 83?

Visual description

This vinyl is in superb condition and still has a stunning glossy sheen with no marks or scratches.  Under a bright light I can only a handful of ultra faint hairlines, never seen better.  The run out grooves are super clean also and the Atlantic labels are close to perfect with only very minimal spindle wear.

Play grading

The lead in on S1 has no background and then the opening riff on the title track 'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap' plays perfectly.  Bon Scott's first vocal / chorus is just as strong and it continues to play with superb power and depth and with no intrusion on the audio.  No dust ticks, static ticks and obviously no clicks or pops, even the fade out is crystal clear.  This is Mint start to the album.

 'Love At First Feel' rocks out loud and true with no interference or distortion and again Mint is deserved.

'Big Balls' plays with sublime clarity and definition and no intrusion...again.  Mint

The only 'issue' with 'Rocker' is just a minor hint of distortion or is that just the pressing?  Aside from that there is nothing getting in the way of the audio so I think Near Mint is deserved.

'Problem Child' plays with superb audio from the get go and the sonic quality does not drop as it progresses.  Again perhaps just a touch of distortion but in a sense even 'distortion' is perhaps too harsh a word for it.  It still plays incredibly well and nothing is lost in the production.  I will say Near Mint but yes that may be a little mean!

'There's Gonna Be Some Rockin' on S2 plays with outstanding quality with no sign of any interference, just deep strong powerful audio from start to finish.  Mint

'Ain't No Fun (Waiting 'Round To Be A Millionaire) plays with stunning audio across its near 7 minutes.  The sonic quality is so impressive - tremendous power and depth and another perfect fade out.  Mint is very much deserved.  A superb version!

The 'bluesy' classic 'Ride On' provides another example of a vinyl so well preserved and hardly played.  The intro and opening vocal play with sublime clarity and it continues in the same precise way.  Every vocal and instrumental plays with such clean audio and I only 'heard' a couple of minor statics - this is not interference!  Angus Young's solo plays to such a high standard and the remainder has no intrusion either.  I will grade as Mint- just to err on the side of caution :-)

The opening 'quiet' section on 'Squealer' plays so clearly with only a couple of mega light ticks and as the volume increases the playback is superb.  There is no obvious distortion and you can certainly turn it up to loud without it affecting the audio!  The guitar work is of course stunning and I will say Near Mint but again I might be under-grading there!

The Cover & Inner Sleeve

The glossy cover is in great condition with only very minor wear, hardly any really!  The edges and spine are so clean and the corners have only the bare minimum of rubbing, just a little more bottom right.  The opening edge is close to perfect and the front cover is again very clean with only a few small creases around the edges as is common.  As stated the original price sticker is still on there along with the (!) sticker.  The back cover if anything is even better - a superb example overall.

The original poly-lined plain white inner has no marking and has just one tiny tear on the flipback and minimal creasing.

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping.  This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage.  The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered.  Any over-payment will always be refunded.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD).  An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known.  Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing.  Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  Many thanks.

All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection.  They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection.  I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.

The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each.  There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up!  Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
